Clean Lineart Tutorial

Hey guys. I threw together a quick rundown about how to make clean lineart in flash. It shouldn't be too hard to understand what to do, but if anyone has any questions be sure to ask and I'll answer'em as best I can.

See ya guys on the 14th

Absent

Hey team. I'm having a pretty rough morning, and I don't think I'll be able to make it in today. I apologize, and please continue on with the game plan. View the 3D animatic (If someone could post it here today, that would be great.) and assign scenes to the animators either by character or by number and let me know here. I'm open to working on any scene that needs to be done, so don't be afraid to pick your scenes first. If everything goes according to plan today, I'll find someone from the team to get the animatic, layouts and scene assignments and jump right in with the rest of the team.

Thanks for understanding, guys, and I'll see you all next week.

Check this out. It is not perfect, but we are getting closer. It is missing a few of the sound files, and needs to have some of them adjusted for timing.

The scene where the dad sits his son down still needs to be tried from the kids POV. The camera sitting on the ground and turning to follow the loogie from the kid to grandma's window also needs to be tried.

Possible Programs for animating

Animators, please try the program Pencil out. It can be found at:

http://www.pencil-animation.org/index.php?id=Home

We might use it as an option instead of Flash or Toon Boom. If you like it or not, please give some feedback.

Deadlines

3D team:
All car models done by week 6
All models done by week 11

2D team:
3d animatic by week 7
Aim to start animation week 7
Goal is to have at LEAST 2 scenes completed by week 11

Flash Test 1

Here's what the final rendered characters will look like in the short, if everyone in agreeable. (Minus shading! Shading after layouts.)

I know Rick is doing hand-animation and then tracing in Flash/Adobe later to get the final look and I will probably be doing the same. Hey animators! You can either go hand-drawn and traced digitally, or straight up Flash if you're more comfortable.

Refrence for the animators

A simple tutorial showing off onion skinning within flash!
http://creatureart.deviantart.com/art/Flash-Animation-Tutorial-52482981

Simple and kind of kiddy, but easily gets the point across as to where the onion skin button is and what it does. A flash render of one of our characters will be done soon -- so everyone can see how the characters translate into Flash. At the moment I'm currently thinking a tinner, clean, solid outline for the characters and solid colors, instead of a more sketchy look because I think it'd tie in with the crisp and clean 3D cars we have. Keep your eyes peeled for the example!

here is an early test for Pixar combining 3d and 2d together. enjoy
